Wi-Max ?? Whats that??..
« on: February 09, 2012, 06:43:55 AM »
Connecting to the internet was evolved with time ,In the beginning it was accessed through dial up network then came broadband which gave users better speed to access the internet, later internet went through a new phase with Wi-Fi giving users the freedom to roam around and still be able to connect to the internet. But the problem with Wi-Fi was people required to find a Wi-Fi Access point or a Service provider spots where the range was also less. Now with the introduction of Wi-Max users can access their web world from anywhere they go without the need of Access points.

Wi-Max is a fourth generation technology which is used for high speed wireless internet connectivity . This can be used for any hand held device which has the compatibility for a Wi-Max technology just like the Wi-Fi capabilities available in most of the gadget righ now. It may take a while for this compatibility to be available in such devices.

Wi-max can provide broadband wireless access up to 30 miles for fixed stations, and 3 – 10 miles for mobile stations. Right now Intel in leading the way to provide wi-max solutions for laptops and other hand held devices.
