Microsoft Apologizes ??..
« on: February 05, 2012, 08:51:00 AM »
Microsoft is been constantly bombarded and getting the sticks for tweeting on the late Amy Winehouse, the famous pop star past away last week. Just three days after the tragic passing away of the star Microsoft tweeted that fans can download Amy’s record breaking album back to black from Zune, and you may know that zune is the digital media brand owned by Microsoft and this was seen inappropriate to the people cause the death of the star was used for selling her records by the company. But Microsoft was fast enough to apologies before the issue get messy.1 300x91 Microsoft Apologizes ??..

Microsoft on the first tweet quote “Remember Amy Winehouse by downloading the ground-breaking ‘Back to Black’ over at Zune.” And later on followed it with another tweet quote “Apologies to everyone if our earlier Amy Winehouse ‘download’ tweet seemed purely commercially motivated. Far from the case, we assure you. With Amy W’s passing, the world has lost a huge talent. Our thoughts are with Amy’s family and friends at this very sad time.”

Everyone know Microsoft is a big multinational company but instances like this will make people to think cheap about the company and  the brand. The company is not  running in loss to do such a cheap tricks like these there are plenty of ways to do marketing other than taking advantage of dead people. At least now they can learn from their mistake and prevents some embarrassment in the future.
